Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 41.45 points down at 11847.95 on Wednesday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Adani Green Energy; Angel Broking; APL Apollo Tubes; Asian Paints; Berger Paints; Biofil Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals; K.P.R. Mill; CG Power and Industrial Solutions; IPCA Laboratories; Jet Airways; Likhitha Infrastructure; Nahar Poly Films.

Overall, 23 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 27 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.

In the Nifty 50 index, Bharti Airtel, UPL , Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki were among top gainers, while HDFC, HCL Tech, Kotak Bank, Titan Company and IndusInd Bank were trading in red.

The BSE Sensex was trading 202.70 points down at 40319.40. Traders were seen piling up position in Petrochemicals, Telecommunications, Diversified, Metals – Ferrous and Retail sectors, while selling were visible in Trading, Agro Processing, Rubber, Tyres and Real Estate sectors.
