Markets trade flat; Pharma and IT index in green; Cipla, Sun Pharma, Infosys gain



Benchmark indices trade flat post opening lower, Nifty is keeping above the crucial 13700 levels, whereas Sensex is up 57 points at 47,023 levels, back in the green. 


Indian rupee opened 18 paise lower at 73.75 per dollar on Monday against Friday’s close of 73.57, amid volatile trade. On December 18, rupee ended flat at 73.57 per dollar against Thursday’s close of 73.58.

AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited informed the exchanges Sunday that the company has received import and market permission in Form CT-20 (Marketing Authorization) from the Drugs Controller General of India for Benralizumab 30mg/mL solution for injection (Fasenra). Benralizumab (Fasenra) is indicated as an add-on maintenance treatment for severe asthma with an eosinophilic phenotype in adult patients.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector announced that effective January 1, 2021, the company will increase the price of its range of tractors, across models. This has been necessitated due to the increase in commodity prices.

On NSE, 14 shares advanced, 35 declined and 1 remained unchanged.
